Has anyone ever been apart of the show? If so, how real/fake is it?

Big Mike’s in Denham was on it IIRC. Maybe after the flood?

Since it’s a reality show I’m gonna say 95% is fake

I have been apart of the show indeed

And it’s gone downhill since.

Many of the bars that participate are either no longer open or worse off than when they started.
From what I’ve read, BR comes in and spruces the place up and patches holes only to the point of getting it to look good on TV.
They don’t really teach the managers how to run a proper bar, nor the employees how to do anything other than make a new drink and a couple of good items.
The rest is all drama created by the writers and several bar owners were told to act like assholes to their staff, even if they were incredibly nice people. You can tell who is actually faking it on the show if you pay attention.
Once Taffer and his crew leaves, the bar staff goes right back to the way they ran things prior. So if they were unsuccessful before the show, they don’t improve much after.
The only reason most owners agree to the show is for a little fame, a (somewhat) upgraded look, and a boost in clientele for a few months.
Most have the same problems as before and close up shop soon after.

Some of those bar makeovers look to be a little more than just making it look good for tv.

To be fair it was never up on a hill to begin with.

"We bring in world renowned mixologist Blaze Tannery, who has mixed drinks at some of the hottest nightclubs in NY and Miami"
"Hey guys I'm going to show you how to mix a Divine Apple Coated Spritz Showman drink"......bar is a biker bar outside of Laughlin, NV where everyone drinks PBR.

Not sure how real it is but a local bar was on it. And it’s still going strong. So even if it’s fake whatever they do seems to work?

Every "reality show" is fake and scripted. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

A lot of the upgrades are manufacturers donating their product to get publicity.
Such as a POS system or quality control liquor distribution system, etc..

That place on Bourbon with the barber chair seemed to do ok. Spirits or something like that.

My beautiful and demure wife Amy and I were on it back in the day from our restaurant in Arizona, yada yada yada, and then we moved to Israel .

Is this that show where that guy goes to some shitty bar that serves food sometimes and berates the staff and owner about quality and service

Didn’t they do TJs?
Yes and the guy they fired wasn't even an employee. Iirc, he worked there years before and was at another bar at the time and just drank there with his previous work buddies.
The show is garbage

I have. I owned Mud Bones Wieners back in the day. Me and muscle man didn't hit it off from the mother fricking get go. He don't like minorities.
He was disgusted with my pickle Relish.....frick that.
He wanted me to serve dogs with caviar and potato romanoff in a poutine style.
His show ruined my brand and my business.
