I know not telling you fine ladies and gentlemen anything you don’t already know, but I seem to completely forget how horrible it is trying to traverse, especially via the interstate, then I’m reminded each time.

Good news is, this will all be MUCH better when the loop is completed and open in Q3 of 2025. It’ll be more enjoyable visiting then.

But rest assured you can now use cash in Tiger stadium and don’t have to worry about heathens getting high off industrial hemp

You may not know, but some people shoot other people in Baton Rouge too.

Point of order: those of us who live in Baton Rouge rarely need to cross the New Bridge, which is generally the most glaring issue. And for any local traffic, there are a dozen ways to avoid the interstate when you interlopers clog it up

What sucks is I went to those damn loop meetings back in the early 2000s. Twenty years to complete seemed like a long time, but much of it would have been done by now. But damn it. Why couldn't they make it work?

If you people hadn’t caused BR and State government so much time and resources trying to keep some of you from illegally making your own city in the SE part of town, the loop would be up and flowing by now.

The majority of people at the meetings did not want it and the parish presidents (besides Kip) wouldn't participate because of public outcry.

Short-sighted Louisianians.

I went to a few of those back then too. I remember the proposed route brought it right through the fastest growing area of Livingston and then right through Central despite the hwy 63 corridor was a mile north and had little to no residential impact. Later it came out that the proposed route would take it right through several "pieces of land" that were owned by some prominent people in both parishes. I'm sure they were wanting the money to buy out their property at a rate that no one else would get. The politicians are what killed that project. I spoke with one of the DOTD engineers back then and he agreed that the hwy 63 corridor was what made the most sense and that anytime it was brought up in meetings it was shot down quickly.

It would pretty much be a bridge over the Amite then existing roadway all the way back to I-12. Actually live along that route, but they are welcome to my backyard. I’ll sell out and move to Mississippi if they ever got close to actually building anything. I had wondered why all the proposals brought the road basically through the Live Oak ballpark and along Fore Rd. Politics makes sense. Sucks but it makes sense.

What do mean, you people? Don't hate because we would like to see some of our taxes spent to our benefit. All we wanted was as independent school district. BR escalated this.

You can make fun of our traffic, our horrible infrastructure, our illiteracy, poor healthcare and economy, but by God, we STANDFOR THE PLEDGE!

This is true. I grew up in Baton Rouge and aside from trips to Texas I can count on one hand the amount of times I crossed the bridge.
