In the old days prices would start dropping pretty good after Easter.

I haven't had a single crawfish this season. This season is pretty much over...on to crabs.

Yes, but they will still be quite high.

This year's post-easter prices will be higher than most year's pre-easter prices

Apparently they're still not catching enough volume. I've only had them once this year at a big event that had them catered. I probably won't buy any this season and just have shrimp and crabs instead.

What price are you willing to pay? They are $5.29 a lb boiled at Rouses. I assume they will go lower but not THAT much...probably not much sub $4.00 a lb

Doubtful. The season is almost over, and it's not there's an abundance out there this year. Farmers are going to start planting rice soon, so I wouldn't wait for those $40 sacks this year.

to most of us who are smart, it doesnt matter if it now drops from $6 lbs to $5 or even $4 a lbs because we still arent going to be overpaying for that shite

EVERY single place around here that sells them, listed extra crawfish for sale on social media sites all the way up to noon yesterday.

Someone is lying about how many the farmers are catching!

IDK but i couldn't find anything under 8.99/lb live on Saturday. So, we had a shrimp boil.

No it’s not. The season goes into June, and sometimes even July.

The two highest demand days for crawfish is Easter and Mothers Day. Expect lower prices in between

Not necessarily. A lot of people are just skipping boils this year due to the pricing; therefore, these restaurants are having to sit on the inventory until they find that price point to get people interested.

price for live crawfish last week (LAF) was between $3.50 ~ $4.25 / lb. As of this morning, prices are listed at $3.00 for some vendors. By Mother's Day they'll be < $2.00
