And my wife thinks I’m a stubborn a-hole for not going to the doctor with flu like symptoms.

See physician. You shouldn't be driving. Mrs Misanthrope had a series of horrible seizures in 1999 and we discovered they were caused by a non-malignant brain tumor that's essentially inoperable.

She is on medication which has eliminated their recurrence to this day. She was required to go six months seizure free before she could get behind the wheel of our vehicles.

Seriously, take care of yourself and don't risk your life or the lives of others, please!

I do acknowledge that I miss meals frequently and sometimes don't hydrate as well as I should given my activity level but I've never encountered this before.

It happened at work but I denied going to the hospital because when I came to I was embarrassed and in shock, my employer was less then enthused that I denied to go to the hospital.

Is it likely this is a case of simply not eating, being dehydrated, lacking sleep, excess stress, etc?

1. You should have gone to the hospital.

2. It could have been just because you had low blood sugar or other electrolyte abnormalities (especially if you take workout supplements), but is virtually impossible for my fellow OT docs and I to figure out the etiology of your seizure when you did not go to hospital and get all the tests .

3. It was probably due to penile carcinoma that has metastasized to the brain, but it could also be due to the new Ebola-HIV-Measles supervirus.

If you just passed out, it is likely a case of acute vaginosis. Rub some salve on your puss and get back out there.

If you had a seizure, it is likely Stage V arse and dick cancer. Prognosis: Incurable- life expectancy 2-3 weeks. Prayers sent.

Disclaimer. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice, but i did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I responded to your thread on Sunday.

I have epilepsy, and it manifested when I was 30.

You need to get a work up with a neurologist. They will possibly give you a sleep study.

You do not have epilepsy if you only have one seizure, however if you never had an aura before a grand mal you need to get checked out asap.

Do NOT drive.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Small piece of advice from someone who has a sister who has suffered from seizures, and a wife who has had a few... One thing you need to ask yourself, is have you been drinking or taking pills regularly/heavily, and did you recently stop cold turkey? The most common cause of seizures is a withdraw from pills and or alcohol. If not, lack of food supply and hydration would be the next most likely reasons. I am not a doctor, but having been to more than a few neurologist appointments with my wife and sister, and this is the first thing they ask. Never hurts to get an expert to take a look at you. Best of luck with it all. Hope its nothing serious.

U can see from my history that I rarely post but had to chime. Don’t sit on this...go see a doctor. I started having some weird symptoms late summer/early fall last year (difficulty swallowing, laryngitis and a few others). Thought it was just acid reflux but decided to see an ENT. I was a healthy, 44 year that hadn’t been to the doctor in 8 years. Diagnosed with a malignant tumor in my neck and been battling cancer since. Don’t ignore signs/symptoms - get checked out early.

I would go if first one, but get someone to drive you. Don't take an ambulance.

My buddy had a seizure from dehydration once. Scared the shite out me, happened on an elevator.

Other friend gets them a lot now. Head trauma from car accident.

Doctor shmoctor. Just eat extra peanuts and drink cider vinegar and you will be fine.

(If that doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable about not going to a doctor, then you deserve the O-T medicine.)
