I’m looking to build a small mother in law home/apartment on my property. I’m want a separate septic system and utilities. Does anyone have a recommendation in the Lafayette area? Yes I tried the home and garden board.

Check your zoning ordinances first.

Did you ask your mother in law if she wanted to live in a piece of shite in your backyard? It might help, if you tell her one day she may have power and water.

Just put her in a cage out back. Maybe a Jessie Pinkman pit with a grate over it.

You might have a hard time getting one company to do it all. You may need to have the building erected by say Bergeron Steel (or do it yourself kits from Mueller Steel) have it framed and finished by a carpenter.

D&M for septic work

Celestine Plumbing

Permit office is in Breaux Bridge

St Martin Parish uses (or did a few years ago) a Lafayette company for inspections and they were absolutely wonderful to work with. Wife and I built our own metal home and they went out of their way to help.
