ME: no...

Not particularly close - but I do know people that have.

I don’t know anybody personally that’s died from all kinds of common things though. So it’s a weird standard to apply to the discussion.

I think there's a way to say things to people. Fear mongering isn't one of them IMHO.

That's been tried and people haven't been receptive. Time for plan B.

I have a Plan B:

Take the vaccine if you want, and then move on with your fricking life. It really can be that simple. Anything aside from that has an ulterior motive. We've been letting people kill themselves with cigarettes and alcohol and fast food and *insert here* for generations. Why is it that now we have to have everyone's life and well-being be state-sponsored?

When you're preparing to shut down the country again (which is how things are clearly trending, and has been hinted at now by people in those decision making positions as of late).... yea, it fricking does apply my dude. Perspective matters.

This isn't the black death. This isn't Ebola. This isn't the Spanish Flu.

It's a new thing that can hurt you maybe but probably not. It's time to give it up. It will be two years in November . It. Is. Time. To. Move. On.

Yes and from my experience most these meddling fricks are liberals and I would also wager that a high percentage of these tools 1) Mocked and bitched about the vaccines when it was Trump's baby and 2) Will take to the streets and protest for "My body, my choice!" when it comes to abortion...duplicity run amok!

Over half the population is vaccinated. Meaning over half the population will essentially not go into the hospital.

The population that is vaccinated is more likely to have bad outcomes from a covid infection if unvaccinated. So the impact on potential hospitalizations will be greater than the percent vaccinated.

9 news said only 3 kids are currently hospitalized for covid at olol children's.

Yes. Three friends/acquaintances. Two were older and probably didn’t lose a lot of years in all fairness. The one that got me was a buddy in his mid 50s. Went through the whole hospitalization process, intensive care, etc. Recovered sufficiently to go home. Developed a heart problem during the illness though, and that killed him 2 months later.

Weird thing is that because he “recovered” from Covid, he wasn’t counted as a casualty. So, even though there’s some serious frickery going on with all the death numbers, there are at least some deaths that are not counted.

Yes, I had a friend who died of COVID. Mid-forties, no obvious co-morbidities and not obese. I’m not saying it’s the plague but it does happen.

The probability of this happening more will increase as this virus continues to mutate.

COVID is real, but is being used as a political tool by exaggerating the danger.

We have lost two good friends to the virus. We have a friend in University Hospital on a vent and found today that another long time friend in Georgia, A retired dean of students at a university there has been on a vent for two months now and is not expected to make it. They have asked the family to prepare for his death.

For old folks and those who are sick or in poor health, covid can be a death sentence. It is not that case in all incidents, but here is a gem of truth.

"If you die, you are dead, regardless of what killed you."

This new version of the virus may well thin out the herd of folks who don't believe in vaccination. We all have the god given right to say no to a shot that might save our life. Sadly, I understand it is really tough on kids, who rely on their parents to make the decision on whether to take the shot.

I know I'll miss my friend in Georgia if he dies. He is a good guy. I would have told anyone he is very smart. I guess he has done a very dumb thing.

That’s what I meant too. Not only is the population that has been vaccinated growing, it’s also the most vulnerable. There will never be another scare like the first wave. Hospitals will never become overwhelmed again. It’s past time to let people live with their own decisions.
