I feel for everyone bouncing in these troubled times.
I have been blessed to work in an extreme niche in an already small field and have been here for a while. It's hard (though not impossible) to shitcan a co-owner.

If you maintain a professional CV it should be as simple as either cut and past or hitting print.
“Please describe past work experience, detailing responsibilities and accomplishments.”
“Formatting not recognized.”
“Please use 300 characters or less.”

I've always suspected it was a test. The hiring managers know how redundant their applications are when paired with a stand alone resume. They want to see how patient and attentive to detail you are.
I believe we have some hiring managers here on the tOT.
Perhaps they would weigh in?
We never see whatever you put in the application, just your resume and perhaps your personality test results.
Everything else is either just fluff to weed out folks who “really don’t want it” by sheer annoyance, or is used as AI inputs in HR to filter applications before even considering forwarding the resume to the hiring manager.

Dirt booger and his wife pound a case of beer each evening per his own words.
Dirt Booger is the textbook example of why the morbidly obese are destroying civilization.
He gleefully admits that hiring the best person is less important than his personal power grab. He is encumbered physically and mentally by multiple addictions. I hope his employer reads this and does the right thing.

Seems like you're confusing redundancy with laziness.
After leaving the military and still in the process of finishing ChemE. Wow I hate applying but I have to do it so I do it anyway.

We do it for hourly employees, but we don’t require salaried positions to fill out an application.
The application asks for info not normally on a resume, such as previous pay rates, reason for leaving previous jobs, names of supervisors, etc.
Plus, hourly people rarely have a resume, and when they do - it’s awful.
If you are applying for a salaried position, a written application would be weird.

They either have a shitty ATS or they aren't using the settings properly. If they're a global company the GDP laws require things to be set up differently, usually in a more annoying way.
I don't think this filter excludes lazy people as much as it filters in the people with the fewest options. A shitty hiring process will yield shitty results.

I'm 45, been doing my career for 20+ now. Very thankful that all three place I've worked, I walked into a meeting with the owner and walked out with a job on a handshake. One time, HR was pissed bc they were circumvented in the process but got told to calm down.
