My favorites in history:

Crump: dry lectures that could be a little on the boring side, but he was a very sincere man who was generous with his time. One of the few teachers who took an extra effort to cultivate my interest in history.

Henderson: his Chinese and Japanese history classes were really interesting. He made a tough subject seem easy.

Rogers: medieval warfare enthusiast. His lectures on the Crusades were can't-miss.

My favorites in English:

Gray: wonderful poetry/literature teacher. Big basketball fan. Super nice lady.

Normand: provided the right amount of push-back on my writing, to make me better at it. Great mentor.

Cowan: the most caring of all my professors at LSU. Giant heart. Learned a lot about medieval civilization from her.

I have taken Michael Banks twice. His class is actually structured for you to succeed while also forcing you to learn. Great guy as well.

He had season basketball tickets - good ones - and a few times in spring semester he'd give them to the student who scored highest on that week's quiz.

Bonus quiz and test questions were also basketball related. One was, "What school do the M&M Boys play for?"

Great professor.

RIP Dr. Soc.
