I'm an imbecile, but not dumb enough to keep going to a doctor that routinely makes me wait hours to see him.

You go do law, I've got the day off from making people late for shite.

1) They hate paperwork, but it's either required by law or is there to protect them from lawsuits by scumbags.
2) Long waiting times are CAUSED by patients who come in and try to fix everything in one day OR come in with emergent symptoms
3) They rush you out to see more people because reimbursements are down and that's how they make money. Thankfully healthcare law is about to change. Smell ya later, Barry.

All true and you can thank some GD lawyer and insurance CEO's making bank. Loooooooooooath.

Why bill 52K when they know they're willing to take $5,600?

Healthcare providers have contracts with insurance companies that outline reimbursement for each procedure, visit type, etc..., the healthcare provider sets their own fee schedule to bill for the highest amount that one of their insurance providers will pay. Basically, they charge so much because someone is paying it. You and your insurance company may not, not someone does/did.

I can attest to this.

I have deep respect and affection for our nurses and doctors and I thank them for helping us, and for their sacrifice for us, their fellow human beings and members of the military community. Thank you for helping Soldiers and their families.

Reading through these comments, it sounds like many of ya'll should not go to the doctor.

They're always late, they always overcharge you for everything, they think way too highly of their intelligence, etc. frick, quit giving them business and hit them where it really hurts! It's pretty obvious they're just trying to make your life miserable.

So it'd be better socialized?

It's probably the one industry that should. Is it possible with our population, maybe not. But that doesn't change that fact that the root cause of healthcare problems Comes from it being privatized
