I've got time off this summer and really want hit this road trip I've been planning.

NOLA > Jackson Hole > Huntington Beach > NOLA

Hit all the National Parks in between, try to sleep in a tent in another park every day. Stay with friends in Denver, Jackson Hole, and L.A.

I just need a partner in crime with as much time off as I have who likes to sleep outside. Slim pickings.

The three at the top are my favorites so far. Been to Yosemite 4x, Zion 4x, and going to GTNP a second time this summer.

I've wondered that question myself so:

Acadia
Arches
Badlands
Big Bend
Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Bryce Canyon
Canyonlands
Capitol Reef
Carlsbad Caverns
Crater Lake
Death Valley
Denali
Dry Tortugas
Everglades
(Gates of the Arctic - saw a small bit of it from the road to Prudhoe Bay)
Glacier
Glacier Bay
Grand Canyon
Grand Teton
Great Smoky Mountain
Joshua Tree
Kenai Fjords
Kings Canyon
Lassen Volcanic
Mesa Verde
North Cascades
Olympic
Petrified Forest
Redwood
Rocky Mountain
Saguaro
Sequoia
Theodore Roosevelt
Virgin Islands
Wrangell-St. Elias
Yellowstone
Yosemite
Zion

36 I think - took Gates of Arctic off.

I left Gold Rush NHP off the list. Forgot it was part of the NPS system. You can find it in Seattle, and Skaway, AK. Parks Canada manages the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site, which is part of it too.

cool, that adds another. I think the Natchez Trace falls under the same category or something very similar.
