How would you react if your kid were participating in extremely misguided protests?

I try to think what I'd do if I were paying thousands to help my kid through college and they ended up skipping class to join the absolute dumbest protests you've ever heard of.

Cut them off completely

Probably whip his arse. But no worries, my youngest was ridiculing the BLM protestors when he was a sophomore in H.S. - not all kids from this generation are woke and easily influenced.

That is definitely not how it works. In theory you are correct instead these people get jobs and continue whatever belief without any accountability on their actions.

I don't have kids but I'd hope that I was in integral part of their lives and that the morals and beliefs that I'd instilled in them would keep them from wanting to go stand out there protesting that stupid shite.
IF they still did it, I'd sit them down and talk though the issue with them. I'd use facts and logic and see if their beliefs were based on the same. More likely than not, the guys are out there just to try to frick the hot activist chicks. And the hot activist chicks are out there because their daddy didn't do what I laid out in paragraph one.
Women run on emotions, men on lust. Especially college kids.

My kids are grown now but I know for a fact neither of them would have participated in this bullshite.
If they had participated I would have told them to get their dumbasses to class or get cut off. Then I'd look in the mirror to try and find where I failed them.

It's my job to raise my kids based on my morals. Once they get to college, their life and beliefs are their own.

If I were paying for my child to go to a prestigious institution and they decided to simply quit going to class and to waste the money I have worked insanely hard for, I would stop paying their tuition, along with any other expenses.
The cause for the protest is irrelevant.
