She's in pop, she doesn't have to be interesting. All she has to do is write songs with some basic, generic message over a catchy beat and melody. That's what pop has mostly been since it's inception.
To go with that, Courtney and Hole were so uninteresting that no one gave a frick about them until she hooked up with Kurt. Her deal with Geffen happened only because of Kurt, thus he was the only interesting thing about her.

Taylor provides entertainment for millions of people around the world. Good for her... Who cares if iher entertainment isn't "artistic" enough. Not everyone has the ability to sing a song based off teen marketed perfume and call it art
