I seriously wonder how hard it is to pass the bar in Louisiana only because I know a couple of lawyers and they are just plain stupid.

Having sat for 2 other state's full bar exam (didn't get to transfer my MBE over), the LA Bar is very difficult. It's consistently ranked top 5 hardest in the country. It's the longest in the country (3 days, 8 hours each, almost all essay). It has a low passage rate. For a comparison, the other bar exams I took were 2 and 2 1/2 days and one of those days was a full day of MBE, which is way easier to pass when you're worn down from studying and taking the test.
And agree - too fricking many of us in this state. I'm trying to make a move right now out of the field.
