You can always pack a lunch. It would be a lot cheaper than feeding a family at those prices.
Not if a festival checks you before you walk in and they don’t allow it

The strawberry fest has a bunch of vendors that sell the same stuff. Some are waaaay cheaper than that. Unless that booth is at the perfect location where people just walk up and see them first, they will struggle overall. And many of the booths have tons of strawberry stuff.

No, dumbass, you’re at a fair, carnival, or festival. Prices seem right.
And that , folks, is why prices will be higher next year .

At another booth I heard a handful of crawfish was $20 as well
Clearly a loss leader.

French quarter festival always kept food prices down as it showcases their food but wonder what their prices are this weekend?
Paid $20 for a combo plate from Patton’s in Jackson Square yesterday. A loaded up oyster pattie, crawfish sack, and 3 crawfish beignets. Defintiely up a couple bucks from past years, but beats the hell out of eating a blooming onion in a parking lot in Ponchatoula.

Strawberry Fest is free admission..
so is French Quarter Fest.
Much better food there and you don't have northshore prices like this

And $20 for a fricking ONION!?!!!???. WTF

Back in the old days you could take wagon with your own food and drink into the FQF. When it was a nice local festival.

Sounds about right. It’s a shame.

Them blooming onions do at least feed about 20 people...things are huge and good junk food. Oddly enough, some of the really good cajun food there is like $5 at some booths.
There is a large variety of food to eat at the Strawberry Festival and some of it is very good, but nothing compares to the FQ Fest food. That is the best of the best.
