I don't mean to be pedantic, but the sheriff did not day people could "shoot to kill" - he said "shoot AND kill," which is an important distinction.

I don't think anyone us Santa Rosa County has to worry, but remember that in many jurisdictions, if you admit your goal was to kill someone, even in a self defense situation, this could really complicate things. Your goal is to stop the threat... if that results in the perp's death, so be it. If you own guns, you should be familiar with your state's laws on using deadly force.

Politically incorrect. Tactically correct.

If someone barges into my house, wounding them is not going to make them less upset or dangerous.

Sounds correct to me. I have no issue with him saying that.

What exactly are you saying? If someone breaks in, let them take what they want?

While statistically you're probably right... I'd rather be prepared for the worst than be sitting there with my thumb up my arse and saying "I should have a bought a gun" as some meth frick off is coming at me

Odds? How big of an idiot are you? Odds? You would risk your family’s lives over odds? You hear your door being broken into, and your assessment is, “well, the odds are low that we will be murdered, I’m good”? fricking moron.

Harry Lee would be justifiably proud of this sheriff.

My sister in law thinks like that. “I don’t want a gun because we’re not going to kill someone over our tv”

I’m not willing to trust the dude breaking into an occupied house to take my tv and leave. That’s fricking insane. I’m no keyboard commando, but you break in my house, you’re gonna get shot.

A low frequency high consequence event.

I'm assuming they haven't kicked in a door to borrow a cup of sugar.

Meanwhile the Broward County PD sheriff Scott Israel doesn’t even want citizens to own guns.

We have a badass sheriff like this in Lee County in SW Florida. During hurricane Ian he basically reminded any potential thieves and looters that Florida is a 2nd amendment state and if they go in someone's house uninvited they might get greased. Carmine Marceno is his name.

This is not new or news in certain jurisdictions. Over 40 years ago a police officer told my Mom basically the same thing. She was a little skittish at times and got worried about some dude in the neighborhood. She called the cops and he basically said do what you have to do but drag them in the house after the shoot.

In New Orleans, the police steal guns and Cadillacs so the criminals will have an easier time of it.

That’s good. I remember his PD received over 20 tips about Cruz threatening to shoot up the school, and yet they didn’t do anything about it. After the shooting, Israel took no responsibility and put all of the blame on guns and made the push for FL to have stricter gun laws. He’s a typical NYC prog scum. fricker should move back to NYC where he belongs.

Yes. In a lot of ways, more powerful than the mayor.
