I'm not necessarily ripping on your current setup, but my wireless suggestion would be perfect because you have a smaller space.

Is that the kitchen to the left? If so, you could stash the transmitter, cable box, and bluray player in a drawer.

Trust me, you can mount the tv to that wall and it will look perfect. A swivel arm would be perfect because you can adjust the tv in or out. Put the mount on the part of the wall the juts out.

Also, you can purchase a stud finder from Home Depot for less than $10. My stud finder is one of my most useful tools, especially if I need to anchor something like a tv mount to the wall.

Cue stud finder ghey jokes in 3, 2, 1...

Thanks. It works for what I need it for...sports and movie watching. Having decent sound makes a world of difference.

Like I said earlier, I was by no means implying that my setup was awesome. I just like checking out other setups and seeing what people have.

I love dutch furniture. I recently purchased a 1966 Gote Mobler modern recliner. I'm currently having it reupholstered and it should be finished any day now.

Super excited!!!

Mizzou, if it was off center or not level it would drive me crazy, and I would still need someplace to put the center channel and receiver.

That's the fireplace off to the left. Here's another picture with better perspective and you can see the "jut wall".

the swivel arm would allow you the ability to make certain it was centered.

Look, you have a decent setup, but you could go wireless and mount that tv on the wall for about $400 total.

Elbow grease time? Probably 30 total minutes.

Hold on a sec...why isn't the TV sitting on or mounted to the fireplace mantel?

Here is my setup with my big arse 80" Sharp. I can't believe it is over 2 years old now. It was the first 80 incher to hit the consumer market when I bought it. I'm not listing the rest of my stuff, good surround sound system though.

Yeah, everyone's just pulling your chain. If you like it then cool.

If I was you I'd consider mounting the tv on one that pulls out and rotates. That way you could see your game while hanging out on the balcony

The fireplace is too far to the left for me to center the TV within the viewing area. If I put it up there, half of the couch would be hanging past the back wall, or I'd have to turn it, and I'd have nowhere to put the center channel. Trust me, I've thought about all these things before (mounting the TV, putting it above the fireplace, where to put speakers, etc).

That was one of my mandatories when I was condo shopping...one that flowed from the kitchen to the living room to the outdoor space. Most places in chicago have the outdoor space off the back by the master bedroom.

So my place works well for parties, when grilling, watching games and wanting to have the doors open or be outside. And that mount does swivel so I can turn it to see when I'm in the kitchen or outside.
