I wonder if one day we could have city-states. For example, New York City would be it’s own “state” separate from the rest of New York, Chicago from Illinois, etc. Perhpas then the rural areas will be able to equalize representation and not have the entire state dominated by an urban area.

2 things kept Jefferson from happening.
1. Leader died the day before the big vote.
2. WW2 started and people came together.
It all started with Oregon having crappy roads and ignoring the ppl in that part of their state. Then places in California said they didn’t like the California leadership and joined in.
