The Wilderness Battlefield has officially been declared an endangered historical site...

With the Battle of the Wilderness's 160th anniversary just days away, the American Battlefield Trust has finally been able to declare the area upon which this brutal battle was fought "endangered." Having walked the ground myself, it's a humbling experience to be on land where some 29,000 American men were butchered in just two days of intense fighting. Hopefully this declaration will save it from further development and allow it to be preserved for future generations.
