The Woman who Loves Antisocial Bad Boys & our good friend Captain Save A Ho.

We all know this woman and this man. We have probably all been this woman or man before to some degree, even if it was in 11th grade. She just knows that through her love and through the many letters she sends him in jail where he is serving 3 months on yet another petty theft charge, that she will save him, change his nature, and make him the man he was meant to be. She will fix him. And he just knows that even though she has slept with 157 men and brings endless drama and turmoil to everyone in her life, including all the charming women at Cheetahs Lounge that she dances nightly on stage three with, that he, through his unique love for her, will make her an honest woman. You see, he can fix her.
WTF is this highly dysfunctional impulse that human beings have to think they can "save" other people? I'll hang up and listen.

No, no, no. This is all wrong.
She doesn't want to fix him. She wants to shite test him. The point is to test his worth and value to see if he's really worth committing to. When he doesn't crack, she loves it. She wants him to be the Chad of her life. If she does "fix" him, she hates him. Because the dude in the comic strip probably was "fixed" at some point to be a good, obedient, subservient husband and dad. And you see where that got him with his wife.
Captain Sav-A-Ho is different. He doesn't think he's going to fix her. He thinks she's perfect as she is and just needs stability in her life. He doesn't want to fix anything, and you can see the evidence of this with the fact that he will expect her to be the same ole easy girl with him as she was with other guys. Then when she's not, he'll feel neglected and jealous wondering why she did all those things with those bad boys and not for him.
