We had a teen with TSS once in our ICU. She thought you only changed a tampon once every day or two(she had very light periods).

And yes, there are certain situations in which you can't wear tampons.
But for the average woman...these restrictions are not in place. Why would a woman choose to wear a pad over a tampon if they didn't have any legit medical reasons not to?

Pads are just not comfortable. You feel like you are wearing a diaper no matter how thin the pad is. And can't wear tight fitting clothing cause of the bulk of the pad.
Also...if you a strictly a pad wearing woman...no pool time or beach time for you.
