It is my opinion that an aircraft from an advanced civilization far away wouldn’t need/have lights.

If Marines witnessed a "UFO", then I believe. Marines are known to be experts in extraterrestrial things.

Illumination rounds were eventually fired over the UFO by Marines,
Of course Jarheads.

Alien bros have to adhere to intergalactic aviation codes and laws.

This is what happens when you combine copious amounts of alcohol with Marines in the middle of the desert.

It was noticed at 29 Stumps. Every Marine was drunk. Ain't shite else to do at the Stumps.

Maybe those aren’t lights just the flare of the zero gravity drive pulse engines?

No way it could’ve been an alien. We would’ve tried to frick it.

What if these are just extraterrestrial billionaires out for some eco tourism on Earth?

I was in the Corps from 2012-2016 and had plenty a training for ITX at Camp Wilson.
In one of the ITXs 2/10 wound up at in that timeframe (guessing 2014/2015) and I don’t know what the frick I saw, but I’ve never seen anything like it before or since. We were conducting a night movement out towards Lead Mountain and taking a longer way than needed because the CO determined the pass for a shortcut was too dangerous for artillery at night.
Anyways, and I have no pictures or anything as I was driving, but something in the sky was bright as frick and like a pinpoint in the sky. By the time I pointed it out to our 1stSgt (who I was driving for), the thing had zoomed in and made everything so bright that I hit the brakes because you couldn’t see a damned thing in front of you. That lasted for a minute or so and just disappeared just as quickly as it showed up. Turns out, our entire convoy had done the same thing and everyone got out of their vics to be like “what the frick was that?!”
After a few minutes, we went Oscar Mike again, but we’re weirded out. A good bit later, we caught up to another unit that had also been conducting a night move, but they had one Humvee that toppled over in a bottom next to the main “road” we were traveling. We stopped to make sure all was good, and they were okay, but started screaming about “that bright fricking light and what the frick was that?”
There’s some weird shite out at the Stumps and I’m still not sure what I saw, but not shocked to see this.

What would concern me is not so much that it has lights as how does the object with lights go from point A to point B (in once incident the distance was estimated to be over 40 miles) in the blink of an eye from being completely stationary. An acquaintance of mine was a fighter pilot in Vietnam and that's what he encountered also he and some others witnessed some orbs tracking along with them. All of that was quashed.
