Neither, it was an academic school.

Don't get me wrong, we had all of the sports, but they all sucked when I was there. Our robotics team was legit though. If I remember correctly they were going all over the state for competitions and dominating.

A few state championships in baseball and soccer. Bad to 1st or 2nd round of playoffs in football, really just depends on the year.

My school generally sucked at sports expect for my specific year for some reason. My class year had a bunch of good athletes that ended up playing at D1 schools like UCF, Wake Forest, etc.

Basketball. State Champs 3 years in a row in the mid 90’s. It was fun being a class C beating 4-5A schools on the regular.

Edit. School closed now. I’d heard it basically become a zoo in the last few years.

Not sure what they are planning to do. The building itself is fine. The parish decided that enrollment had declined so much and with the cost of insurance, the cheaper option was to close it and send them to another school 15 miles away. I get it, just hate seeing it closed down.

Girls basketball.

They won a title in the late 80s then went to five straight finals in the mid 90s when I was in high school. Finally got a second title in ‘96.

Had 33 girls in my graduating class. Three played D1 basketball, including one at an SEC school.

That one is the current head coach. I just checked, they were 12-14 last year.

Our rival was a football factory. Those games were not fun. My dad bought one new truck in his life. The week he bought it we played a road game against them and it was spray painted blue.

Plot twist: Our school colors were blue.
