I agree with some of the others mentioned already. Newark, NJ was pretty damn grimy too.

So does every other major city.

But Atlanta has far less "shitty" areas now then just 15 years ago. A lot of gentrification has occured the last 2 decades.

I think Atlanta is just an incredible city. In the last 35 years is a huge boomtown. But they do have bad areas.

I only stayed 1 night and I didn't get to see the whole city, but just flying in and seeing the fog over the city made it feel dirty..

I never been to Seattle, but I never thought of it to be a dirty city, but several years ago (before covid when some of these cities got worse) a good friend of mine went to Seattle. She had been to NY, Boston, Cleveland, L.A., etc and she said Seattle was the dirtiest city she had gone to.

That surprised me, but she said the court house had homeless people just laid out on the steps and they just let them be, which I would think that if there is any place a city wouldn't allow the homeless to hang around, ask people for money, etc.. It would be the court house.

Seattle was not bad when I visited. Brooklyn had trash everywhere. I mean everywhere
