you find out you will die in 30 years, does that make you invincible for the next few decades?

I'd frick a bobcat in a phone booth to test this theory out.

I went to a website 12 years ago that predicted my death on May 4, 2024.

I’m wearing my “May the Fourth be With You” shirt all day.

Sure. Give me a general proximity. I’ve had a great life. Death still philosophically seems like a relief for me. Not in a depressed or anxious way but in a “ I’ve run the race way”. I’ve had so much weight on my shoulders, always hustling for other people, on my own since I was 18, always feeling duty and responsibility always dealing with malevolence and betrayal and other stuff that is contrary to how I view life. The stupidity and ugliness of the world , endured stoically, can wear you out.I think part of me has always known I’d welcome death and probably die with a smile on my face.Maybe then, some real peace .

Yeah not knowing what’s coming is really hard for those left behind. Especially if the deceased was still young enough that people would’ve expected a good bit more time. Unexpected isn’t as hard if the deceased was 90..you just can’t realistically ask for much more. Especially if they were well enough at the end for it to catch you off guard.

I sorta hope I go out in some kind of off- beat manner, when ever.

Like, if for whatever reason, I died by falling into an industrial soup-making vat, my memory would prolly live on a lot longer than if I get done in by the usual suspects.

Struck by lightning, falling piano, meteorite or space debris - all of these seem like easily remembered answers to the question, should it come up, ‘how did your granddad kick the bucket?’…

Doctor and I talked about this.

"So in other words, I am nothing but a used Volkswagen. Everything working fine until a part breaks and I don't start in the morning." Or until everything goes black and you wake up somewhere else.

The brain thinks you are 18 and can leap tall buildings. but the body says "No you can't"

I've thought about this with suicide victims considering they are really the only people who have this knowledge. It's a bit strange that they just "do it" instead of engaging in any plans or preparations, like checking off bucket list items, or going to Vegas and betting big on the roulette wheel or something. A lot of times they don't even bother to leave a note.

A girl I work with committed suicide on a Friday night and she diligently worked all week performing all of her normal duties with solid work product. Then on Monday nobody heard from her and it was like everything was normal (bills paid, etc.) except for her. I can't imagine working this shitty job all week knowing I was going to end it all.

Just wanna see my kids at a mature age, doing well in life, good people at heart, and objectively happy. I will consider my life a success if I can see that.
