Too early. Our rut hits late into January and my dad taught me a valuable tip. When they are in the rut and you see a doe come into the plot (of course rifle season) go ahead and ease your rifle out the window

Congrats to powpow on a nice buck.

I'm looking at this on my phone and thought he had a gangrene finger on his left hand, but once I zoomed in realized it was the end of the antler.

Me and little Boy had to get out the stand about 8:15 and make run to camp(he had to crap) then back in different stand about 8:45. Doe, maiden doe, and spike walked out before we got comfortable. Tried to get him on the big doe but they got in woods before we could get on them. oh well he seen deer so he's happy
Heading back about 3:30

Not a bad first hunt of the year. Decided to get up and walk around a bit to see how much the landowner head mowed. Jump a doe coming out of the brush. And I froze 2 more followed her out but didn't even notice me. Heard a grunt behind them and dropped to a knee and flipped the safety off.
Young six and a young 7 probably twins came out stood there head bobbing at 40 yards trying to figure out what I was. Wind was in my favor. They finally ambled to off and I waited a bit to see if anything else came out but there was no more. Th bucks were probably two and a half maybe three and a half. Both right at the ears.

Shotgun and a something to stay warm is all you'll need. Slippers and blue jeans won't be a problem in this new blind.

Good because I'll be in my work attire other than hunting jacket.

Back at it, in a different stand. Had a fawn creep up on me just as I stood up and turned around in my other stand.

Now in a tripod on the edge of a thinned plantation along an smz

Lots of sign in here but I haven't hinted this stand yet so no idea what I may see
