The neighbor talked me into going fish the brush piles with him today. I started at 6:09 am with a green pumpkin baby brush hog until my neighbor landed his second bass on a jellybean zoom trick worm. Currently we’re both vertical jigging the trick worm and have landed 4 bass and one gaspergou so far. It’s on this morning, better hit the water if you can!

Change your last name to Krumholt, Bergeron, or Plunkett, and you'll catch twice as many.

I fished ALOT of tournaments growing up. It was my home lake because I lived 15 mins away. There wasn’t many tournaments at all that a Vosburg or Major didn’t win

Do y'all do any good along the banks? Are the brush piles marked or do you have to find them with electronics?

I live about 15 minutes from there and have never tried fishing it before.

Those guys had all False River tournaments wrapped up back in the day. Lots of sunken Christmas trees they had marked.

Damn I didn’t know Doc and Storm were still getting around well enough to hang with the young ones.

Update from yesterday’s trip:
Caught 19 bass from the “chest freezers” brush pile. All fish were released at catch site and most were too small to keep anyway (11-13”). First time I’d ever fished in a boat with livescope and it almost felt like cheating, ALMOST. I did get a better understanding layout of this decades old brush pile (appears to be the size of a football field). An old bass fisherman from Frisco (to remain anonymous, but some of you will know who) showed my neighbor and explained that brush and appliances have been dumped there since the seventies and now it’s just a minefield of structure. When you find it, you’ll know. Good luck to all out this weekend.
