I have been around a while I usually just read and gain knowledge, today I need help. I have a 2008 EZGO TXT 36 v, over the last 6 years I have put a torque motor, Alltrax controller, electric forward reverse switch, so it is far from stock. I just put in a 36v lithium battery, changed the key switch and solenoid, now it won’t run, and I am stumped. Anyone have a suggestion of a place that works on custom carts? I have done all the previous work myself, but I am just over it and want to put it in the shop, but don’t want to pay $150 an hour for a guy to scratch his head and wander what all of this is. Any help would be appreciated

What point was it working before you started changing things? Switchs and solenoids can be bad brand new. I had a solenoid on my mower go out bought a new one and it was bad straight from the box.

No help whatsoever but....

I have an older buddy that would be in corner cranking one out to work on it. Georgia, unfortunately for you. Poor bastard doesn't even break even on most of his repairs...crazy sumbitch just loves it.

I realize that yours is electric but gaurandamntee you he can find a carburetor on it and will rebuild....the damndest thing I have ever seen.

The funny part is he will bitch about the entire time.

I have an ezgo 48 volt and when I updated to lithiums I did not need the stock charging port anymore. I thought I had everything set up correctly and it would not run. There were 2 small wires that ran a circuit through the factory charging port and when you had the charging cable plugged in the cart would not work so you couldnt drive off with the cable plugged in. I had to clip those wires before the charging port and connect them so it would work.

Do you have a volt meter? You will need to trace the circuit to find where it's broke. The pedal microswitch is always something you should look at on the txt.

I had something like this happen to me when I changed the alltrax controller. Had me puzzled and I am very familiar with these carts. I had to get on the phone with Scotty from carts unlimited and track it down to the controller being bad out the box.

You can also post on buggiesgonewild forum. A lot of knowledge there and very helpful guys.

Email me, username at gmail, might be able to help.
I'm an amateur with a similarly modded electric cart as well, and local (Pville).

Get a multimeter, and check for continuity across all the parts with the switch on, with the pedal pressed, etc.

DC electricity has to go in a circle. Make sure it can.

There is a place on plank road almost to Zachary. I’ve used them several times. Nothing great or bad about it, but they fixed my cart back to camp ready status
