Had to battle a nest of wasps with a bottle of water when I first climbed in the stand, which caused my jacket to fall to the ground. Got down to pick it up and had 2 does at the edge of the woods. Hopefully they cross back, looked pretty decent.

30-06 for me, .270 for grandfather.
I got one earlier this week so hoping he sees something tonight. He’s been having a rough season this year and want to see him get on the board.

Caddo Parish/NWLA report:
I saw a big 8 chase a doe across my mom’s pasture mid-morning yesterday. 10 minutes later a smaller 8 point followed their route with his nose to the ground looking for her.

I’d say it’s happening if your in the area.

4lsu2jr is aching to pull the trigger.
A beautiful 10pt showed up on camera this morning at 3am and hung out for 20 minutes. Jr and I found his shed from last year literally 10 steps from my camera after this morning’s hunt. He’s 10 times more pumped than me about this. I’m having the time of my life watching his excitement the past few days.

Was planning on public this afternoon but a 10-point showed up on my camera on a property I hunt so I went there instead.

Set up a quick natural ground blind because it's too thick to get into a tree. Never saw him today, but I had a younger buck walk through and check me out before trotting off. Also had a doe and her fawn come through but were very cautious with the blind. It's always good to see deer, and I'll try again tomorrow after sprucing up the blind a bit.

Got a 5pt yesterday. Dropped him in his tracks with the ole reliable 308.

Didn't hear a ton of shots throughout the morning.

Already back at camp
3 year old son made it an hour and a half, which I was impressed with. Made a ton of noise but it’s all part of getting acclimated to the process. Saw 3 squirrels

Felt a lot colder than the 47 the weather app says.
