Looking to head down to Lake road to do some fishing and crabbing tomorrow. Anyone fish over the weekend, did the recent storms mess with the salinity?

I assume you mean Lake Road in Lacombe?

From the weather all last week the water has been messed up. All day Sunday the tide was falling which was pretty wild. I played around in the afternoon by goose point expecting a tide change that never happened. Caught some trout and reds, infrequently. Could not get away from the hard heads and gaff tops.

This week LP, LC, & LB should be on fire.

UPDATE: LP & LC have been on absolute fire in the afternoon. There is a lot of shrimp in the lakes though so you will need live bait or fish under birds for a quick box.

On Tuesday (LC) the conditions were so-so but considering the mullet and shrimp all over I thought I would get a nice box. Couldn’t get anything to bite artificial for two hours. Hit all the places where they were holding and drifted. Nothing. Finally, I took a ride to find birds. Smoked the trout with a few reds. Majority of the fish were @ 12-12.5”. Decided I was only going to keep some hogs for ceviche. Left with 4, largest was 19”.

Moon cycle, tide, wind were complicating factors. Today the fish were everywhere, birds were everywhere, but I didn’t fish. Tomorrow afternoon it’s on in LP!
