ok, so.. after doing some investigative work and traking down Dakota, (on the adive on the tOB), i let it stew for a weekend..

well, there is a gas station/truck stop right beside our office. I pulled in up there to get a 9er of 16oz ML screw tops when the cashier says.., "did you get that boy's phone number?", thinking that maybe she talked to somebody from the office i said, "No, not yet.. i'm gonna go track him down in the next couple of days though, he is gonna wish he had nev..", she then interrupts, "you ain't gotta track him down, he left it for y'all.. here ya go, can't believe no one had told y'all yet.."

this was my reaction.. ---->

and then the cashier explained..

"Yeah, we we're sitting in here getting ready to close up when him and friend got out of his car.. well.. apparently he forgot to put it in park and it rolled down on parking lot, down the hill on y'alls property and smashed into the fence. He was so drunk that he didn't even notice.. shite.. he even walked plum face first into the door when he got out of the car.."

Yes.

now.. let's illustrate this with pics..

Dakota's 'stang was parked right where that white utility truck is.. a little bit closer to the ice machine, he got out.. and then the car progressed down the parking lot..



down the hill pictured in the background and slammed into our fence, from the security tape it looked like he smashed into fence with him in the car, night vision on the cameras made it hard to tell.. i didn't even see him go down and get the car on our cameras

at this point, i sat to myself.. "well, the kid at least left is number.. i'll just tell him to pay for the damages, fix the fence, apologize and we go on our ways.."

so, with this info i give him a call last Monday.. he doesn't pick up, I call at lunchtime.. he doesn't pick up, i leave a message

tuesday comes around, still no answer, i'm getting pissed off now..

i said enough with this bullshite, i call the town police dept. that afternoon, let them know what was going on. They said they'll have someone out to the office shortly, i think, "great, something is gonna get done.."


the cops show up late wednesday.. wtf, cop comes into the office, i give him the low down, show him the tape. show him the # he left and all the info i collected off the interwebz. The cop then put his head down enough to create a couple turkey chins, gives a little sigh and says.. "well, i don't know what we can do about this.. it on private property. I'm gonna havta talk to my supervisor and get back to you..."






you don't handle private property? what the frick do y'all do then besides for ride around, set up speed traps and write bullshite tickets!?



i'm royally heated now, so i call the county sheriffs office.. they'll get back to me.. they owe us anyway, i'm talking monetarily and morally.. we've helped them out a lot through the years.. i get the chief detectives # and leave him a message.. i still haven't heard back from him..

well, as luck would have it, one of their new bomb dogs got the allergies real bad.. so they had to bring it in, the dog's trainer is a new kid to the sheriff dept and pretty good guy, we tell him the story he rides up the road and finds dakota and told him he was gonna lock him up if he didn't get back to us in the next hour..

An hour goes by and the phone rings and i pick up, "hey.. uhhh, i need to talk to Dr. aVa..", i said, "he is with a client, this is his other business line.. what can i do for you?", the voice replied this is Dakota ____, i need to talk to him whenever he has a chance.."

me--->




i said, "hey Dakota, this is aVa.. when you gonna fix our fence".., he said.. "well.. uh.. soon, i just gotta wait for my next paycheck.. i get paid on Friday.. I'll be by on Monday with some Money"

i said, "sounds fantastic.. see you then, bye bud"
i hung up and still haven't heard from him.. he knows what is on the line..

so here is the question for tOB.. what do i do if i haven't heard from him by tomorrow?

yeah, he is 21.. in college, (criminal justice major it says on his FB.. go figure )

but yeah, that's why i had a little bit of sympathy at once.. we've almost all been there, young, dumb and doing stupid shite.. so, i could personally relate.. even though i never did anything of this magnitude..

If he does the right thing and brings in the money.........give him some/all back. We've all done dumb shite.


I ran thru a fellas barbwire fence once being a dumbass. I had to go out and repair the fence and apologize. It was a good lesson.

Agreed don't take his money make him work. A little sweat and time is good for a college kid. We have all done stupid shite. Some of us were lucky enough to have done it to a person that was willing to help us learn from it.

I see that. Not how I meant it. I was alluding to being drunk and having a car spiral down a hill OOC.
