Seabaugh seems to be the type of true conservative that we actually need. Great record. I know McConathy was a basketball coach but have no idea about his politics

Wasn’t long time Louisiana good ole boy legislator Billy Montgomery also some popular North Louisiana coach that voters put in office only because he was “popular”?

That didn’t work out well for our state.

Yeah, let’s dismiss anyone from NL right off the bat. Y’all are so great down there.

My point was about some well-known coach running for the legislature and possibly getting elected based on his coaching success alone. Similar shite goes on in South Louisiana.

Stop being so sensitive.

Grew up a few houses from him, Mike and Bill lived in the backyard shooting hoops.

Found an Advocate article by Tyler Bridges on the race. Can’t post the link because I suck at the Internet.

Take away: McConathy voted for JBE’s and does not like Trump

Seabaugh is an actual conservative.

That is all I need to know

No such thing in the LA legislature. Seabaugh is a huge supporter of film tax credits.

I don’t think that’s the test for determining a “true conservative.“

Do a little research, if you can, on who is funding McConathys campaign! Trial lawyers, ambulance chasers! He has admitted to voting for “honor code” Edwards! He has received the endorsement of, imho, the worst state senator this state has endured over the years, Louie Bernard! I have no dog in this hunt, race! Only that it saddens me to think the people in that district would vote in a “rookie” to the LaSenate! But my love for this state makes me want to see it move forward instead of being at the top of all bad lists, and bottom of all good lists! By electing people like McConathy is not a positive in any way!

That seems to be the consensus.

McConathy: long time basketball coach, probably a nice guy, knows nothing about LA politics and put in the race by trial lawyers and democrats which checks out with his support for JBE and Biden.

Next!

Seabaugh is the real deal. It would be a major blow if he loses.

I consider myself a true conservative and I could support tax credits for businesses. But not just to lure them to do business in Louisiana. If they can show me real proof that the state will have a sustained gain and profit from tax credits I can support it.
