The planned changes include: raising the corporate tax rate to 28% from 21%, raising the income tax rate on individuals earning more than $400,000.
i disagree with raising taxes on individuals making 400k by any substantial amount but the corporate tax rate hike wouldve been a cut 5 years ago. more worried about the changes to the tax code they will put in it that frick us more discretely

This 400k amount is done for political purposes. They know that it won’t raise a measurable amount of money but what it does is that it divides people.
It puts a wedge between the employees and employers.
This 400k number is a union tactic that has been used for decades. They know that the majority of people make well below that. Many who are conservative make below that and they want to make those people hate the “rich” making over 400k.
They’re not looking to raise substantially more tax revenue, It’s divide and conquer.

So not meals, right? Or do you not actually know the difference between meals and entertainment?

You mean the ones that employ those making under $400k? Bold strategy.
We don't need those jobs anymore, Beijing Biden is sending them to China.

absolutely. I guess what I was asking was what makes this a MAJOR tax hike as suggested in the OP? based on the details provided it would affect almost noone. Obviously by the time they all get their hands on it it could become a major tax hike, but I'll wait until then to worry about it

Sorry....they were grouped together under same code. I’ll be more specific next time. Doesn’t change the fact that it increased my taxes
