Yes.

They are still reciprocal to Louisiana CHP holders.

Often wondered how many more baws will carry now. Wouldn't think it would increase all that much because Texas laws for CC and now constitutional carry were fairly simple before.

Yes, honestly i've been carrying for years in Texas and I don't have a CC permit.

To the outside world, it seems like a game changer but for those of us who actually live in TX, it's business as usual

I'm headed to SA pretty soon to see family. Always a good time there Htown here

This is the way. Your permit is the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution.

I don’t think this is correct.

I didn’t see any residency requirements in the bill. Please correct me if I’m wrong though because I don’t want to get anyone in trouble.

I don’t have a CHL but carried occasionally (in my car, not on my person.). I have a disabled neighbor that has friends and family in some rougher parts of town so I would give her rides and carry in the car.

I've wondered how this works as well? I didn't bother to renew my LTC because of Constitutional Carry. People say without a license, there's no reciprocity with other states. But if they have Constitutional Carry, do I need a license there?

Would seem odd if they did. Why restrict “constitutional carry” to state residents? Restrict 1st, 4th, & 5th amendment rights to residents, too?

If you have a LTC, it is still covered by reciprocity

Most states (at least red ones) treat your car the same as your house. So you're allowed to open carry a long gun and conceal carry a handgun in the car. You're also allowed to carry on your person, without a license, while transporting weapons between your car and property.

The FF couldn't have been clearer about having a firearm. "Shall not be infringed" means there is no such thing as legal gun control. Gun control is clearly unConstitutional.

I understand that. What I was curious about in states that have Constitutional Carry, do I need my Texas LTC there, or can I just Constitutional Carry like their residents?

So does this mean I can tuck a pistol in my waistband, under my shirt, and it’s legal even though I don’t have a concealed carry permit?

Resident of Texas
Pistol is registered in my name.

Sure they could have been clearer. They could have eliminated the introductory clause about a well regulated militia.

I think you can open carry if you want?

You have to be really careful with this and make sure you read up on each states laws regarding transportation. There are several gotchas, even in more gun friendly states.

You also have places like New York, where transportation of a firearm is almost completely banned, even in your own car. If you are from out of state, you are explicitly not allowed to transport a firearm through the state, even if it’s unloaded and in the trunk.

Some states require a CCP to have a loaded gun in the car, regardless of whether it’s concealed or open. Pennsylvania has rules saying that if you don’t have a CCP, you have to have the gun and ammo in separate locked compartments of the car.

All that is just to say, please be very careful about the rules on transportation. They are all very specific and very different by state.
