All of y’all are discussing the merits of whether the word was used correctly, shouldn’t be used at all, and / or how did we get here with a word being so “powerful”.
I feel like everyone is missing the big picture. Did he just admit that him (a white person) “loving” (either being a friend, dating, or sexually attract to...) a black person is some kind of insult? An insult noteworthy enough to bring up in this day and age.
Seems like he would have known better to not even use that as an example of “protecting ourselves and defending ourselves because we were called a lot of ugly names as children”
Eta: not to mention isn’t this the jackass that beat up a hooker and drug her with his car 10 years or so ago? Why is he running? Didn’t he learn anything from our last governor election?!?! Hell that guy even treat the hooker with some compassion, didn’t so much as pull her hair without permission.

Yikes! I get what he was trying to say, but as a cracker, he should have used better judgement.
He could just pull a Pocahontas Warren move and say it was alright for him to say the N-word because he is black.
I'd wager he is more black than she is Native American and I have no idea who he is.

The problem isn't his. All he said was someone called him a **** lover. He didn't call anyone a name.
Sad day when people think a derogatory word can not even be mentioned in that context.

The ones bitching about this care nothing about context, just the skin tone of the individual who uttered the word.

The N word is not just a bad word to the Progessives, it is literally unspeakable, like religious zealots enforcing a silencing of the name of god.

The poster Tzimme4 said he's voting for Gary Landrieu.
And he has the nerve to shite all over Abraham and Rispone as terrible candidates when he's voting for a political candidate who think it's a good idea to say the hard N word on air.

I have no sympathy for the word considering how widely it is used by non whites. If it is that bad, nobody should use it.
If one scoured the world and all of human history, it would be difficult to find logic that is more sound and unassailable as this.

Landrieu, a cousin of former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and former U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu
Recognized the last name. Would never consider voting for any Landrieu.

Surely we can agree that in describing insults hurled your way there are more than a few examples that we’d all agree should not be repeated on a radio broadcast that is essentially a public job interview, right?
And that as a candidate being that obtuse is an obvious red flag?

I see no foul here.
He's a Landrieu. frick him. That family has done more to frick up this city and state than anyone else. I hope he gets eaten alive for this comment.
