Old Code of Conduct is a disgrace to his military background. He is a liar! I put him in the same worthless category that I put Bill Cassidy in.
The prison system under Edwards was and still is run by Jimmy LeBlanc, a clown who is inept at his job. But because he has been seated there so long, he's given a pass.

It would seem that the real power and direction of a State is based in its Legislative makeup. The power to override a Governor's Veto at the fore. It's the Demographics (voters) that ultimately define State Policy.
Example: Do other States have Laws which limit Civil Suits, I.e., "Ambulance Chasers"? It seems to me that making Civil Suits easy is just another way of "spreading the wealth around" (Obama quote/Socialist principle), and as such, Democrats like JBE would see nothing wrong, and in fact would promote such as virtuous moral Policy. Money to the poor folk as opposed to investors and those who (are affluent enough) to pay elevated rates. A 'blood sport' of course.
I remember some Veto override fight not long ago, and the Republicans came up short by just a vote or two. That defines where our State is and is indicative of any chance of major Ideological 'reform'.
JBE went for the Fed Money at most every instance. Fed money has become THE ultimate power...and "the mother's milk of politics".

I’m no fan of Landry, but at least he showed some semblance of a pulse in pushing back against the stupidity of JBE.
Hell, most of the other possibilities for Governor kowtowed you the stupidity of Jindal.
The short list is really short in terms of quality.
The issue is, those potential candidates really don’t have a chance.

The veto override was one vote short because Ronnie Johns called in sick and the next day gets a plum appointment to the gambling commission by Honor Choade.
