Phoenix is the biggest city by population in the state of Arizona with population over 1.6 million, which accounts for 23.2% of the state population. It also ranks the 5th most populated city in US after New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston. It is the capital city of state Arizona. It is also known as “Valley of the Sun” and “The Valley”.

Based on our research, Phoenix population will reach 1.676 million by 1st July of 2018. We use first day of July each year due to US census bureau normally publishes the estimated population data for the same period. The calculation is based on the average growth rate of 1.9% over last 7 years since 2011. We believe using the recent years’ figures (see the table in next section) will make the estimation more accurate.

its like 10 percent of the states entire population (voting age, I mean).

this adds up to 1,722,775. "finding" another half million doesnt even seem possible.

From CBS news about an hour ago:

quote:

Arizona's tight Senate race likely will not be called until later this week, since there are over 1 million outstanding early voting ballots that still must be counted, CBS News' Fin Gomez reports. As of early Wednesday, McSally had a lead of about 13,000 votes with 63 percent of the precincts reporting.

When I checked Arizona SOS early voting website Monday McSally was leading
41.2% to 34% (Sienna) unaffiliated was at 24.1%

These number are basically dead even with 2012 numbers.

Im aware. I try to make it there 3 times a year. Wonderful place to visit. I could never live there though.

I was surprised by the vote totals both being in the 800k range for synema and mcsally. Trump/Clinton had 1.2 & 1.1 M votes respectively. It makes sense that there is a large cache of votes un accounted for and the PHX area has the population for it. thats all.

It’s a midterm. Makes perfect sense for that kind of vote difference compared to a presidential year.
