We absolutely can not stay healthy. We now have 4 injured defenders.

Down 4 defenders (likely 3 starters), one of the best goal scorers in the league, 1 guy that just got his visa but isn't with the team yet, and 1 more that's still waiting on his visa.

It looked like there was a defender in the area of the box. I'm ok with it not being a red on a shot from midfield.

Disappointing for Nashville especially with the misfortune that played into the second ATL goal. Gotta play to the whistle.

Clear red. Ridiculous.

Gave them a go. Fans were engaged, and had a solid turnout. Disappointing result but there is heart and skill on the team. With chemistry will come success.

If we accept that level of speculation it kind of swallows the rule

The rule is for an OBVIOUS goal scoring opportunity. If you have a player in the 6 yard box, how likely do you think it is that a player scores on a shot from midfield? The window is very small. Not only does he have to hit it on frame (we have no idea if Barco's shot would have even been on frame), but he has to hit it where the defender can't get to it. It's just a low percentage opportunity. Distance from goal and location of other defenders are two of the boxes the ref has to check when considering DOGSO.

If the keeper does that 4' outside the box, I'm with you, but not 50 yards from goal with defender(s) in the box.
