Is it the coaching?

Is Manuel Neuer that hood that they are so bad without him?

Is Harry Regretting the move?

Which is worse? The defense or the offense?

Is Kimmich getting worse?

Leroy Sané does things and you say to yourself wow he is a once in a lifetime talent and then other times you wonder if he even knows where the ball is

They don't have the CMs to play this all out front 4 they want to.

It's the same reason they got ripped apart in the CL at times, people can just go right through them.

No doubt Kim will be an improvement on Upamecano but I think they should have done more to get a proper CDM and replace the German Jorginho in Kimmich.

Tuchel seems to have beef with Goretzka. Playing kimmich and Laimer in a midfield 2 is fricking LOL.

Yes, in some ways

Not world class anymore, but much better than Sven

Is Harry Regretting the move?

Suiting him up was a whirlwind rush job for the Super Cup. He’ll be fine

The midfield more than those…Laimer & Kimmich won’t do enough on the defensive side. You need a Javi Martinez type in front of the back line.

Wingers need more consistency attacking; Musiala has to get out of his funk. Davies’ pace often gets him back in time but he’s usually too far up. Mazraoui at right back might be an issue.

After the Kane fiasco, a swift kick to the nuts was probably a good thing. Squad still has a ton of entitlement, last year’s late escape didn’t help that.

To me it feels like Bayern is slow king trending down hill. And has been for some time. It mirrors the national team.
Kimmich was hailed as the future of both. Almost like the next Lahm. But I do not feel he has a leadership skills.

It’s like both teams lost the concept of team. And it’s just of pretty good individuals. Theirs is no world class players on either anymore.
Neuer and Müller are passed their prime. I think Kimmich has peaked. Not sure what Goretzka issues is.

The typical confidence Bayern had for years hasn't been there since the World Cup & winter break heading into 2023. The front office & personnel moves since the CL title in 2020 haven't produced like many expected. Brazzo, Nagelsmann, Kahn didn't show the maturity & leadership like their predecessors, and neither have the likes of Gnabry, Sane, Mane, & even Davies to an extent.

Longtime players haven't helped since then either: Neuer's injuries & goalkeeping coach drama along with Muller's lack of playing time are affecting their presence in the locker room.

Kimmich has his own set of problems, primarily his arrogance and his development regression. He's compared with Lahm for his ability to move from RB to midfield but it came with different circumstances: Lahm did it late in his career because Pep wanted to tinker but Lahm was also happy to go back to his RB role if needed. Kimmich made the move early in his career and refuses to return to RB, even when Bayern has a ton of depth in midfield.

Whether Kimmich says he's a #6 or not doesn't matter if Tuchel doesn't believe that he is due to his performances.

I've been a huge Kimmich supporter over the years, but you'd have to be blind to say he's hasn't taken a step back.

Anyone watch the game today that can break it down for me? I was not able to. I have not watched highlights or read up on it either.

I'll take the bait, per usual...

It was a total opposite performance from the supercup match vs. Leipzig at the weekend. The energy was apparent from the first minute. Kane's assist to Leroy in the 4th min was sharp and the team was invested from front to back. Phonzie's electric run set up Kane's first goal, and I think Tel even tried to plead his case for playing time with his goal at the end.

Tuchel started both Goretzka and Upa in place of Laimer/deLigt and it helped with confidence in a big way.

Honestly, Tuchel has caught a lot of shite but today was a masterclass even if it was against Bremen who Bayern has dominated for years. In a way, he's pushing buttons of players that need their buttons pushed, so let's see what happens.

3 points and +4...auf gehts

Thank you. Not a fan of many sorts writers righties.

Swamped at work and home so mainly getting my soccer just from here.

Who do you feel should be the starting line up.

Is Upa better than de ligt?

Peak Gnabry,Musiala,Sane running behind Kane makes by pants stiff.

--Kane up top
--Musiala preferably behind Kane or even on a wing (he needs as much time as possible to rebuild the confidence he had in 2022)
--Tuchel needs to find the best Gnabry/Coman/Sane/Muller combination (Tommy won't be in every starting XI but still needs time)
--Kimmich is your captain, he needs to play...mix in Laimer/Goretzka where matchups dictate
--I think the deLigt/Kim combo at CB is ideal, but Upa will be a better fit in some cases, these could all work in a back 3 as well
--Davies/Mazraoui are almost all you have for fullbacks aside from Pavard, weak spot on the squad

Better? No, and not as consistent. More talented? Perhaps, but he's made a ton of crucial mistakes since coming aboard

Tuchel never got a chance to figure out his best XI last season as he hit the ground running. He now has much of the Hinrunde to do that, so tinker and figure out who you'll be needing on European nights in the spring.

What, no Dortmund fans? And no it’s not because of Reyna.. he’s a douche. Not really due to Pulisic either.

I follow a lot of teams. Don’t really have a favorite except USMNT. I just like watching different styles. different players.
I enjoy bundesliga for all the young up and coming talent. Wish it was not dominated by Bayern. . I enjoy EPL for the history and higher levrr ear l. Plus easier to find English language radio broadcast.
I enjoy champions league because of the diversity. And top and up and coming players from all over
