Going for a long weekend during Labor Day looking for suggestions on where to stay AirBNB or other?
Would like something relatively affordable and not $500-600 a night.

Restaurants, Beaches and sights to see, so would love to hear suggestions.

We are up for UBER or a rental if necessary.

First trip to San Diego for the two of us, so wanna make it fun and special for both of us.

I’d stay at a hotel in La Jolla or on Coronado Island. Just my personal preference. Hotel La Valencia in La Jolla is our favorite. It’s a short drive into San Diego. I’d definitely rent a car.

San Diego Zoo

Balboa Park

Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial is cool and the views are incredible

Go see the seals at La Jolla cove. My wife really enjoyed sitting on the rocks after dark. We do that almost every night when we’re there.

Great restaurants everywhere. Check out Little Italy in SD.

Eat dinner outside at Duke’s in La Jolla

I always stay in the Pacific Beach or Mission Beach area. Last time I stayed downtown and wished I were back in PB

Agree with Tyga Woods. Also check out the Taco Stand in La Jolla.

Sticking with food and La Jolla, also recommend El Pescador Fish Market for lunch/dinner and grabbing a drink at Public House's patio bar.

Great trails and beautiful views. Below are some pics taken three weeks ago.

The Brigantine overlooking Del Mar Racetrack has some incredible mahi tacos.

Torrey Pines bluffs high up and down to beach is amazing

Anybody have suggestions on most kid friendly hikes (3 and 5yo) with cliff views? Was thinking Sunset Cliffs or Point Loma monument, La Jolla cove?

We are headed there in a few weeks. Wife, me our 10 yr old and in laws. Looking forward to it. We are staying at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. I'll be looking at some of these restaurant recommendations. ONly thing I have booked is Georges at the Cove for a Sunday night.

Second this. Make sure you book the outside upstairs deck.

La Jolla in general is just awesome. The Children’s Pool/La Jolla Cove. This is right off of Prospect and it is neither a pool nor is it just for children. It is a cove area with amazing scenery where seals go up on the beach. You can walk about a mile or so down the coast (make sure when you walk, you are heading towards the cave area where the street comes to an end and where there is a beach actually called The Cove) and it is 100% worth it.

Windansea Beach is also a really great beach experience and more local than the cove.

You can drive up to Mt. Soledad which I believe is the highest point in San Diego and the views are spectacular.

The Gaslamp District is kind of touristy but it may be worth checking out. It is in downtown San Diego and a short drive from La Jolla. Lots of restaurants and bars.

Coronado Island is also a cool day/half-day trip. The Hotel Del Coronado and a cool little town

If you want to see quintessential California beach towns, check our Pacific Beach and Mission Beach. Pacific Beach has a cool “boardwalk,” which is actually cement but it’s worth walking around and checking out the sites. Mission Beach has a “boardwalk” as well and is worth checking out. There are easily accessible parking lots in both PB and MB.

San Diego Museum of Art at Balboa Park is awesome.

Mt. Soledad Memorial

Views from La Valencia in La Jolla. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

A little Catholic Church in La Jolla if Mass is your kinda thing.

Torrey Pines if you’re into golf.

Duke’s La Jolla

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Not that I want to be inside the whole time but the Art Museum is a great idea for a couple hours one morning.

If anyone has any recommendations on areas to grab a AirBNB that would be great. I don't need all the amenities or people hotels offer so Id like to be able find a nice place in a quality area to get to some great places.

I don't need to see it all on this trip but some of the major cant miss stuff will be fun to see.

Don’t hike down the cliffs at Torrey Pines where the hang gliders are. I did and found out I was the only person wearing clothes down there
