He'd have the freshest arm. Didn't he bean that guy with a 95er?

I'd love to see Anderson start. I was hoping he'd start today.

I think Jay thinks we're in after this weekend, so it'll be interesting to see who he starts and how he'll use the bullpen. Just read an article with this quote from him.
quote:

"I don't think us being in the postseason should even be a discussion," Johnson said. "Like we have the players (and) we pass the eye test. We have 23 wins outside of the league (and) 36 wins as an SEC team. Like this is (a) no-brainer.

"We're not just being evaluated against other SEC teams, you're being evaluated around the country. And there's some very favorable things if you look at it deeply. Like our record versus somebody else against common opponents, like we win out on all those with bubble teams."

Here's the article if anyone's interested...

I've been looking for the post game interviews but apparently they're not posting any more or some BS.

Poor baw threw 2 pitches and he was yanked

Jay wasn't messing around with the bullpen today.

In relief, Jay has been pretty adamant about getting the first batter. I think he managed the arms well this series. Lots of those guys doing well in short bursts. I'm hoping a couple more step up to chew innings. I'm not optimistic about the officiating in Hoover giving them any grace.

He's campaigning. He knows they still have work to do.

Eh, he’s making a case in the media. I’m sure he believes we deserve to be in, but that’s different than believing we actually have it locked up.

I have to think he wants to remove as much doubt as possible in the SECT. I would be kind of surprised if he doesn’t treat game 1 as a must win, but I could be wrong.

Jump - Little - Herring

No hard pitch counts; just monitor fatigue.

I agree with both of y'all about him making the case in the media.

It's probably just me projecting my thoughts onto his words.

He damn sure better know. Being 11th in the sec pecking order is not very comfortable. Tuesday is a must win.

That’s because they don’t get to have the trackman feed in the dugout like they did at home. It was UGA, not Arkansas, doing that.

Go on…

For us to feel really solid about a berth in postseason, Tuesday versus Georgia is a must win.

Agreed. A win over Georgia would give our RPI a good boost too. Plus we know that two of the other 13-17 teams are going to lose on Tuesday.

There are 28 teams ahead of LSU in the RPI, including 10 conference leaders. You add in 20 more auto bids and that takes it up to 48 teams. Who are the 16 at-large teams with worse RPIs than LSU getting in ahead of them? (And that’s assuming Florida, SC, and Vandy would get bids before LSU, which I don’t at all see as a given.)

Excellent point you make; it’s definitely hard to imagine leaving out any of we SEC clubs at 13 & 17 with the conference being so incredibly strong. But I want to defeat Georgia and feel even better.

A minimum of 2 13-17 teams are going home Tuesday morning between Bama/SC and Florida/Vandy. Root for Bama and Vandy to win, would put Florida at a really bad spot and South Carolina losing 7 straight SEC games

I will be interested to see if we go Jump on a pitch count or some version of Herring/Little.

I would go Jump for 70 pitches (he only threw 80 on Thursday). I would use Herring, Little and Ackenhausen to get home. If that wasn’t enough I’d let Holman throw an inning as a bullpen. Everything to win Tuesday.

If we don’t use Holman, then start him on a pitch count in game two.
