I never got this argument, or the “why does God let bad things happen to good people” argument

Christians believe God sent and allowed his own son to be tortured and crucified. If Jesus was not above hurt and suffering, why would any of us be?

Christians believe there is sanctity and purpose behind suffering even if it doesn’t make sense at times

I'm with you. I've never had my faith challenged by any version of, "Why does God let bad things happen?"

First of all, not only Jesus—as you pointed out—but I can't think of any major character in the Bible who didn't face some significant life challenge.

The Bible is very clear. We're not here to be comfortable, or even "happy." This world is just an embryonic existence, and the Bible is very clear that experiencing hardship and weakness is what turns us to God.

Jesus never said, "Blessed are the comfortable, for they will not need God."

It's frankly always surprising to me when this does prove to be a stumbling block to people, because it's so obviously missing the entire point of the whole exercise.

I love this retarded leftists argument.

It highlights how they feel about life. Everything is incidental, nothing is ever earned.

Leftists just replace God with Government.

They want you dependent on them.

The argument of why does “God” allow good people to suffer is neither retarded nor leftist. Very religious people have been asking this question for thousands of years.

That’s pretty much true of modern leftists but is false to attribute the question of why does “God” allow suffering of pious people to them.

Its the predominant leftist argument and one of the chief goals behind "Open Society" movements.

Enjoy your shitty existentialism. There is no meaning behind it.

In the contrary. It is you who devalue life based on the false belief that this life is only a means to the next life.

Well can you really prove God exists? Actually prove? No you can't.

You cant prove God dont exist either, which is why Atheism is silly.

Agnostics are more honest.

Well poor Alexandra had a closet fig for a father and a crook for a mother so I'm sure she doubts God.

Since we’re on the subject of questioning why God allows the human condition to continue, why does God allow spiritually wicked people to get little kids to question God’s existence? Why does He allow politicians to remain in power and push to slaughter babies by the millions?

Answer….. None of this is God’s fault. He has given us the truth to live by in His word, and even sacrificed His only Son to pave the way for our salvation. The culprit she is looking for is the one staring her in the face every morning in the mirror. It’s HUMANS that cause this suffering. Don’t blame the one who’s given you the roadmap to life in His scriptures, the same humanity ignores because it’s uncomfortable and they would rather live in their sins than find the real answers to life.

If we allow people to mess with kids heads and try to destroy their faith in their creator, that is on us for allowing that to take place. If we continue to vote for people who have a blood lust to slaughter little babies in their mother’s wombs, that is on US, not God.

If we allow people to flood our borders, and bring destruction upon ourselves, that’s not God’s fault. It’s ours.

If we allow people to live on the streets rather than offer them hope and a future with employment and job training, then that is on us, not God. WE DO THIS.

The buck stops with Humanity, not God.

Daughter of Nancy "Wrinkles" Pelosi, also a devout Catholic. Like Joe "dementia" Biden, their FAITH is about votes, and power, not God. They will not make the "cut", at crunch time.

Only if he's wrong about the next life.

Actually, not even then.

A better question should be "how did you mom make over $100M on the salary of an engineer and with her money - why would there be any starving kids in her community?"
