Chilly, as much as I love him, is damaged goods now and a one-trick pony. Marc is more dynamic and has more value to this team.

I disagree with this.

Chilly is better in almost every desirable metric.

In the inverted role, I believe that he would prosper.

Maatsen starts at left back for Leverkusen. He is only 22.

He will be back at Chelsea in June.

I would go that route and sell Cucurella.

If they sell Maatsen, then I would still sell Cucurella, and play Gusto there to rest Chilly. He can also play right back, right wing, and left wing. He would be an invaluable utility player imho.

Just my .02.

Between Europa and Conference, I prefer Conference.

It would give our our backups and reserves a legitimate competition that would be all theirs (couple that with Carabao and early FA matches, and that is enough PT to keep a large squad happy). It also means not having to continually play front line players mid-week (which could happen with Europa).

In short, Chelsea needs to not lose, that is all.

Boo, It's a joke competition and Europa offers another path to UCL.

While true, I would still prefer it. There are more positives than negatives. If Chelsea is to be in the Champions league, then a healthy squad gives us our best chance imho.

Our squad is huge there is no greater chance of getting hurt in a Europa game compared with a conference game.

5 straight wins, qualified for European football.

The future looks bright.

I wouldn’t expect our best to play conference matches.

You can’t get hurt if you don’t play.

It doesn’t matter, we are in Europa.

Cest La vie.

Unless you are just assuming City beats United i don't think that's settled.

There's no rule we have to play certain guys in either competitions. Also, our guys are so soft they are just as likely to get hurt in training.

Are there any world class center backs we can bring in? Our defense needs a lot of work

Have you forgotten our lack of an actual striker?

No but I've been baffled by that for years and given up hope on that front. Not used to such utter incompetence and instability in the back
