Former LSU Baseball player Blake Dean is reportedly stepping down as head coach at the University of New Orleans to "pursue opportunity outside of baseball." Per WDSU:
quote:Dean played for LSU from 2007-2010, helping the Tigers win the College World Series in 2009.
Following two years working under the legendary Ron Maestri, Dean was initially tabbed the interim head coach before officially becoming the Privateers’ seventh head coach on June 30, 2015.
In nine seasons, Dean went 256-220-1 (122–113 in the Southland Conference).
Dean led the Privateers to a winning record in eight of his nine seasons at the Lakefront.
He won at least 30 games in five different seasons.
