Former LSU passer Rickie Collins was named the starting quarterback at Syracuse this week by Orange head coach Fran Brown.

Collins, a former four-star prospect from Baton Rouge (Woodlawn), signed with the Tigers in 2023 and appeared in just four games over the last two seasons.

Syracuse is that bad at QB position??? I guarantee that before the 4th game, he'll be replaced.

This doesn't track with the board's prescription to ride the pine for 4 years and be "loyal".

So you would have given him the job over Nuss to keep him?

Collins handled his business as you should, gave it a good try, did his best, grew and learned...then found a better situation for him. Wish him the best.

Definitely going to be watching Syracuse this year. Watched last year when they brought over the Ohio St QB who ended up first in passing yards and 3rd in passing TDs per game in 2024. Completely turned around his career and gave him a chance to be drafted in the top 4 rounds. Collins is physically better arm wise and has great athleticism for a QB.
