Appearing on the Zero 2 Sixty podcast, Deion Sanders Jr. revealed that Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter doesn't take "a cent" from Colorado's NIL collective. Sanders boasted that Hunter gives the money he's made through NIL to his teammates instead, with Sanders estimating it's split among 10 to 15 of his teammates...
quote:

"You know he receives no NIL from the collective?" Sanders said. "He's one of the biggest donors to the collective, meaning he's paying a lot of other people's NIL on this team... He's paying at least 10 to 15 guys' NIL on the team from his pocket. He's donated his own money."

I hope he keeps using his platform to show the youngsters out there life ain’t all about money, it’s about being a good person and teammate first. He seems to be an all around great human.

I think you have it exactly opposite. If it wasn't about money, Deion would still be at Jackson State.

What does Deion have to do with Hunter?

It's obviously not all about money, even with Deion. I know you can't, and won't even try to understand it, but Deion is a great father figure for his kids, and the kids on that team.

If he wasn’t getting any money from the collective, where was he getting his money from?
Endorsements? What kind of endorsements does he do or has done?

The fact that you ask that says you're too dumb to even use google AI. He's in many ads. The same way Jayden Daniels was okay getting paid peanuts to come back to LSU (Nuss is getting close to 2 mill) because he had many other sponsorships.

Endorsements, shoe contracts, etc...all the stuff he would have had to wait on in the past until he went pro.

You do realize he has tons of sponsorships right? Hunter got money to originally come to Jax St. He has two different youtube channels that makes him money, he has a twich channel, he has his own podcast on Bleacher Report as well. He doesn't need Colorado's NIL

Also he didn't buy that truck, his girl bought it for him. She has a streaming and youtube channel like he does. He doesn't buy the flashy stuff. Doesn't smoke or drink either. A super rare type of dude that has one goal.

There should be a base pay for being a scholarship player

Huh? No base pay for endorsements. You can't restrict ability to make money outside of the program. If Nike wants to pay, they can pay whatever.

This is awful. So the guy is a Heisman winner and the other guys on the team have so little loyalty that he has to pay them to play with him? This story signifies how broken CFB is

Loyalty. This is about Hunters generosity. Your assumption says more about your mindset.

I don't think Hunter is a bad guy at all. It's just crazy that a good guy with money has to essentially bribe his teammates with money so they won't transfer

I know this is supposed to be a feel good story, and it is. Good on Travis, he sounds like good dude for that. But man, college football NIL is really damned stupid and has broken the sport. It’s “professional money” being allocated in an amateurish way and I just can’t take any of it seriously.

Did the billionaire owners pay SCOTUS to destroy college football? After all, college football made most forget about the NFL!!

Let it go. Real fans will watch and support the sport. Why should anywhere care about another man's money.
