Discuss all things Cosmere here.
What is your favorite series or stand alone book from the Cosmere collection?
Favorite Cosmere character?
Favorite magic system?
How will it all tie together?

You're in the wrong universe, man!
But you pose some very difficult questions.

Right now, I'd have to say Mistborn is my favorite series, simply because there are more out there. Stormlight is very good, but "just" beginning. "Warbreaker" is a very good stand alone for the moment, and probably underrated.

Wax and Wayne, and most of the folks in the "Alloy of Law" age of Mistborn have a great dynamic.

Hmm...I guess the metal arts from Mistborn, but the Surges from Stormlight might be better.

I don't know. Still a whole lot to come out, but it's beginning to be woven together much more in newer material. Hoid is trying to gain all the powers.

Oathbringer is set to come out this year, right? Can't wait.
I don't know if y'all have read any of his short stories, but he recently release a collection called Arcanum Unbound. I got it mainly to read the story set in the Stormlight universe, but my favorite in that book was The Emperor's Soul, which is set in the Elantris universe. I wasn't a huge fan of Elantris, but this one was excellent. Involves a different magic system and has a different setting that doesn't really touch at all on the events of the first book.
I need to start Wax and Wayne. I read Alloy of Law years ago, which is kind of stalling me from starting the series over again.

Yep, set for release in November, I believe.

I had read many/most of the shorter stories already, but I got it for the Stormlight story as well. The stories set on worlds outside the main stories are pretty interesting.

Any guesses at who Hoid actually is?
Seems like he's trying to master all the magic systems, either for himself, or someone important to the overall arc.
I'll nerd the frick out if there ends up being a showdown between all the different systems down the road

He was there whenever the 16 took up their Shards after Adonalis(sp?) was shattered.
The whole undertaking of the Cosmere is impressive. The Ars Arcanums are written by an in universe character. Pretty much all of the "Stormlight" books, including the writing on the back cover, is story that expands the Cosmere. Have to use clues to pick out the Worldhoppers and figure out which world they come from.

Do we have known world hoppers besides Hoyd?

Yes, quite a few, most showing up in the "Stormlight" books.. Though, only a couple have gotten more than a few moments of page time, and some are more prominent than others. One of which is a major character from "Warbreaker." Have to use clues from what you know about the the worlds and what not to catch them.
Added:
Obviusly, the character that's writing the Ars Arcanum is a Worldhopper. She is seen for a short time in one of the newer Wax &a Wayne books, as well as the Mistborn novella/short story.

I just read a wiki on all of them as a refresher. The scope of all of this is crazy.
I completely forgot about Szeth/NB. That has me excited. I think they will be a great pair.

Yeah, should be interesting going forward. But I wasn't exactly talking about that "character."

The wiki had all of them listed. That pair just interested me the most, outside of hoid of course.

Ya, Sanderson has some lofty goals...but he's also one of, if not the most prolific writer in the genre right now. If anyone can pull it off, it's him.

Is elantris any good?
Yeah, it's good. You can tell it's his first published book, but it's still a quality novel. Had a very interesting magic system. Curious to see if he ever goes back to that world again, after the success of "The Emperor's Soul" novella.

I'm finally getting to "Arcanum Unbounded." Most of the stories in there will be rereads for me, but still worth it.
I had forgotten how good "The Emperor's Soul" is.
Looking forward to getting to the end of the collection for the "Stormlight" novella, "Edgedancer."

What is your favorite series or stand alone book from the Cosmere collection?
The Wax and Wayne books so far are my favorites. Strangely, I think I like them better than the original Mistborn series because the characters are more limited in what they can do (as compared to full Mistborn) leading to more creative power uses.
Favorite Cosmere character?
Probably Wax, with Vin as a close second. Kelsier could move up in the future however.
Favorite magic system?
Allomancy. The temporal elements of the magic are awesome to think about and come up with creative uses for.
How will it all tie together?
One of the things that I'm most curious about is something that has been somewhat cryptically mentioned, the opposition to Adonalsium. What could be powerful enough to oppose a "God"? I also am excited to see how the different magic systems function on different planets.

1. I love them all but Stormlight is the best.
2. Favorite character is probably Wayne, he makes me laugh so much. I want to say Kal but Wayne brings more joy.
3. Mistborn, may not be the "best" but it was my first and remains my true love.
4. Wit

The only Sanderson book I've read is Way of Kings. So all of his books tie together in a way? I didn't realize that.
ETA: I found THIS article that explains it. I may read the other series listed in the article. Very interesting stuff.
