by John Carreyrou.
The book is the definitive look at the mega level fraud that was Theranos, Elizabeth Holmes company that was supposed to revolutionize blood testing. If you saw the HBO documentary Out for Blood in the Valley, you only know about 20% of the story. This book will fill you in on the rest.

That chick legit freaks me out, especially with that voice-change she does in public. Will have to check this book out at some point

quote:Yes. No question in my mind that she is a sociopath; a highly manipulative sociopath. A real creep-o.

Someone gave it to me for Christmas. A compelling read. Fascinating how many super wealthy fell for it. Not to mention some major corporations, major investors, banks, etc... really is an unbelievable story.

I came across this book in Apple Books and figured it was probably about everything that has been reported on her and the situation already. But I will have to check it out now..

I have said this before she was found to be a fraud. The first time I saw her do an interview, was I think on the morning news on CBS and I was getting ready and was half arse watching it, but there was just something about her.. Those big eyes, her deep voice (which is apparently the way she talks only in interviews or when meeting with people).
One several occasions I have asked people if they thought there was something strange or creepy about her and each time I got a "not really", but she is no question a sociopath.

Schulz, Kissinger and Boies, as described in the book, reminded me of my 78 year old dad...put a young, thin, blond chick, that at that age, to him, looks attractive, in front of him, that sounds half smart and he won't be able to contain his enthusiasm about her...won't stop talking about her. It's really a simple story - old men duped by the pussy.

I took this recommendation and just started reading this book.
So far it is interesting. As you said, the book fills you in on a lot more detail than the documentary.
