I just finished the first 2 Mistborn books. They are ok but nothing special, imo. If it is not grabbing me should I just stop now or does it get better?

Era 1 was a bit of a slog for me. I didn't really care for any of the characters. Era 2 was much better. The stakes weren't as high but it was more character driven and entertaining.

Era 2 is better than Era 1 for me. Much more enjoyable.
Are you trying to read the entire Cosmere?
If so its kinda essential reading

I thought the first trilogy was solid but nothing amazing. The next set of Mistborn books I found to be excellent.
I'd read books 3 and 4 since you've gone this far, but if you don't like book 4 no reason to go forward.
The biggest difference is the characters, which are meh in the first trilogy and awesome in the next set of books.

As far as the board goes, I'm in the minority in like the first three Mistborn over era two. I'm about halfway through the final Mistborn book and I've enjoyed them, but not nearly as much as era one.
Era two is certainly more character driven so that can easily be an appeal but I just liked the overreaching story of era one better. Just was more epic. Honestly one of my favorite fantast series ever and I mainly read fantasy.
But mainly I think I'm just more of a traditionalist with my fantasy and I'm not 100% sold on "modern" fantasy or where you start bleeding into sci fi as well. Turns out i just don't want guns, electricity, and cars in my fantasy. The less the technology the better.
But again, that's just personal preference, they are all 100% worth reading. If you are wanting to read Stormlight Archives definitely keep going and honestly if you get through the first three Mistborn and don't like them, I have a hard time seeing you getting hooked on Stormlight.

I wouldn't really agree with this necessarily. There are quite a large amount of people that find the original trilogy mediocre/average, and love both the era 2 Mistborn and Stormlight (I'd consider myself one). Stormlight also has very well written characters, just like Era 2.
So people that are heavily character focused with their fantasy might not be super impressed with the first trilogy but easily like Stormlight quite a bit.
Whereas I find people that aren't super character focused tend to like the original Mistborn trilogy quite a bit more and to be more forgiving of it's flaws. Which given that the world building and magic system are elite, and the overall story is solid, is quite understandable.
The original Mistborn trilogy very much tends to be a love it or meh/eh type of series for people. It's kinda like the Malazan books a little bit, just in reverse.

Perfectly understandable take, I'd stay away from Brian McClellan and Django Wexler probably in that case.

Same, I find Mistborn Era 1 very mediocre

I think Hero of Ages is the best of the first 3 so at least give that one a shot.

I flip between it and TFE a good bit but they're both a definite step up from WoA.
I agree with others though, Era 2 is a much more "enjoyable" read.
