The Mrs and I are having a little weekend getaway next weekend and will be popping into the festival on Tulane’s campus. This will be the 1st time we attend. Has anyone on the board attended before? We are staying at the Nopsi. My main question is should we Uber or is there enough parking on campus for the event?

How was it? And I wonder how I could participate next year as an author?

That would be a great venue for you

I’d start with the Tulane library, I’m certain they will have the info you need or will be able to direct you to the right place.
This event is pretty new but really gaining steam. Several big name authors there and all the big publishing houses had people there. If you have a book to market I’d make that call.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was my first time. My wife attended a session that John Grisham participated in. She said it was pretty fascinating hearing him say how Hollywood has paid him nicely for several of his "stories" but very few have actually been turned into a movie.
Two of the more interesting things she learned from him was that he truly had to convince Billy Beane to submit his "portrayal rights" over to Hollywood if a movie would ever be made. Up to this point, he hadn't really had any of his books turned into movies. Turns out shortly thereafter that they learned Brad Pitt would play Beane in Moneyball and that was that. Beane was pissed but got over it quickly.
The second is that Grisham was really vocal about Michael Oher's stance on the Tuohy's. He said Oher, due to his upbringing and life circumstances prior to being helped by the family was that if he saw you eating food he'd lash out and have the view that it's HIS food and you're taking something from him that he thinks is rightfully his. Grisham said the Tuohy's are so far from the people Oher is attempting to paint them out to be and are truthfully invested with helping people and improving their situations as best as possible.

I got to spend some time with my old boss in Iraq David Patreus. He gave a nice talk on modern conflict resolution and spoke at length about Ukraine.
Great event that keeps getting better.
