I haven't read this book yet, but meandering through X (Twitter) a little while ago, I hit on the author's page:
Lewis Ungit - X(twitter)
... and he's promoting his book by offering the Kindle version for free today, 8/12, on Amazon.
The book explores psychedelics and religion, and how they shape societies. It "outlines the science, philosophy, and theology behind psychedelic drugs and how they have historically affected individuals and societies", per the description on Amazon.
Again, I haven't read it, so cannot recommend it personally. Nor do I have any other connection to the author. I'm simply posting this to notify anyone who is interested in reading books along these lines that the Kindle version is free today if you want to take advantage. To that end, not sure if today ends at midnight EST or otherwise.
Here's the Amazon link:

I read this book yesterday and thought it was pretty good.
Makes the connection of psychedelics for religious purposes, serpent gods, and human sacrifice in ancient cultures...and makes it well.
Being a Christian and having experience with trips, its making me think twice.
